Article from Libyan Publication: "Workshop on Promoting Libyan Women Begins"

Under the theme "for women and by women" the activities of the workshop of developing the employment of Libyan women organized by the General Peoples Committee for Manpower, Training and Employment 19 - 21 of this month, began Monday morning. The Secretary of the General Peoples Committee for Manpower, Training and Employment noted in his speech on this occasion that this workshop comes within the framework of applying a practical programme to find specific workforce by encouraging women to enter all job fields after she obtained all her freedom which realized by the great al Fatah Revolution to do any occupation she likes to do without and obstacles or distinction. He also called for forming women's companies and partnerships in order to benefit from her practical experience, she acquired during her study and training in vocational centers.
  On her part the head of the preparatory committee of the workshop Mufeeda al Tubby stressed in her speech at the opening ceremony of this activities, the importance to prepare women's man power to enter the job and production market through studied and developed programmes based on promoting the awareness of women as well as increase her vocational and scientific capability.
  The workshop includes a number of fields such as traveling, tourism, industry of textile, designing, human resources and operations thorough the research papers due to be presented during the workshop. The opening ceremony of the workshop was attended by the Secretary of the General Peoples Committee for Manpower, Training and Employment at Tripoli Shabia, the Director of the Arab Centre for developing the human resources, Director of the International Forum Institute in Florida, Stephanie Jason, a number of specialized professors in women affairs at the American universities, a number of those who specialized in the women field in the Great Jamahiriya and a number of women functionalist who interested in this field.
